Visual Editing for Storytellers
How do you create a visually interesting story? How does framing, sequencing, adding or removing color and sound change the meaning of what you are telling your audience? In this workshop on Visual Storytelling we will take you on a journey through the shooting and editing process. We will show you how your choices change what your audience sees and understands. We will be drawing from the lessons learned in cinema and explore how we can use that for our own editing choices. We will be talking about storyboarding, sequencing, cutting at the right (and the wrong) time, camera placement and camera movement, adding music and how to show something by not showing it.
